- Layout -
Navigation: Upon arrival In The Venue staff outside will instruct you on which entrance and will perform a security search (degree varies from simply emptying pockets to full pat downs). Tickets are taken at the door, ticket purchase and Will Call are handled just inside.
Big Room shows: Once inside you are in the GA/all ages area. There is a wall/fence separating the 21+ side, usually with a light over the station where they scan IDs ( required by state law ). There is a bar on the main floor and seasonal bars on the Patio. Stairs to the balcony are on the east end of the building. The balcony is normally 21+ only.
Small Room shows: Once inside you are in the GA/all ages area. On the far end of the room are stairs leading to the 21+ side, usually with a light over the station where they scan IDs ( required by state law ).
Smoking Areas: Smoking is not permitted inside the building, this includes the balcony. The patio is normally open for smoking. Designated smoking areas vary by event - ask a staff member for event instructions.
Common Bar Questions
- Identification -
State law no longer requires memberships. Instead, they require the use of electronic I.D. scanners for each patron’s ID to ensure there will be no underage drinking. Your valid ID will be scanned at the 21+ entrance and you will receive a hand stamp. The stamp allows you to travel between the separate sides of the venue. The line for the bar can be slow to start but once all the IDs have been scanned flow between the two sides is much easier. Thank you for your patience.
- Alcohol Restrictions -
State law also requires the use of a metered dispensing systems, calibrated to dispense 1.5 ounces or less of primary liquor for a shot or into a mixed drink.
"All beverages must have 3.2% alcohol by weight or less (or 4% or less by volume) per drink, per person."
What this means to you is if you want to order more than one drink you need more than one person - since pitchers have more fluid oz. you need at least two people to order one.
- Last Call -
Alcohol may be served in the State of Utah from 10:00am to 1:00am. However, with concerts and shows the bar at In the Venue stops serving alcohol when the music stops. Please, don't forget to close your tab!
- Leaving the Bar -
No cups, bottles, cans, or other "open containers" can leave the bar area - into the GA section or the exits. You can bring you juice bar items in but once in the bar they cannot leave - even bottled water.
- Smoking Areas -
Smoking is not permitted inside the building, this includes the balcony. The patio is normally open for smoking. Designated smoking areas vary by event - ask a staff member for event instructions.
Parking Information
- Parking -
The lot to the south of the building is owned by the City of Salt Lake. It has posted NO PARKING signs, fencing and they will ticket/tow cars. Suggested parking would be along 600 West or paid parking at the Gateway Mall.
Trax is preferred option as you can " Park n Ride " . For our venue take the Blue Trax line and use the Old Greek Town stop.
Additional Info: Because of Utah's curfew law any "All Ages" show has to be over by 11 o’clock which is around the time of the last departing Trax trains.

DRUGS or any other illegal substances are NOT permitted.

set of rules written into their contracts - changes to allowable items are subject to change without notice at any time and at the discretion of In The Venue's management.
Commonly asked about items:
Past Examples: No glass (bottles, cups or shot glasses), "Crushable Plastic" cups only (solo cups), No lids, and No plastic bottles.
Information Regarding Minors
- Admission -
Patrons 18 and under are welcome to any of our “All Ages” shows when accompanied by a parent or guardian that is 18+. Age information is specified for each show. Additionally, because of Utah's curfew law any "All Ages" show has to be over by 11 o’clock.
- Is "In The Venue" a bar? -
In the Venue does have a bar area as part of Club Sound - access and layout restrictions abide by all Utah state laws regarding alcohol and limiting minors. A full story fence separates the 21+ area from the All Ages area in the Big Room. The actual bar is in an entirely seperate room from both the Big and Small show rooms.
Multiple Event Listings
- Hosting Multiple Shows -
Our unique layout allows us to host up to three shows in a given night, though normally we limit it to two. We have separate concert rooms available for booking - the "Big Room Stage", the "Small Room Stage" and the Basement. Each with their own door, when you get here a staff member outside will direct you to the correct entrance for your event.
- Event Separation -
Different events will be separated either completely or by way of the bar area with access being controlled by our security staff. Admittance to one Event will not gain you entry to other events in the building.
Early Line Up Information
- Line Up Times -
In the Venue does not have any restrictions on line up as long as it does not interfere with our other events. We would ask you to please be respectful of the other businesses in the area and obey all instructions from our security staff or law enforcement officers.

Thursday, May 19, 2011
We are talking pop meets rap with a hip hop beat driven style that is 100% dance music; no screaming, almost no actual singing and tons of filthy language. Wait a second, that can't be true! Songs about alcohol, sex, and boys made by cute, foul-mouthed girls... That can't possibly be the thing that ends the world, can it?
